Neevsys is currently seeking a Lead Multimedia Specialist with good software development and team management skills to join our great team at Raleigh, NC. This Lead will develop and leads custom software applications efforts for the client user community consisting of approximately 4,500 intramural employees, contractors, and collaborators. However, applications are increasingly being developed for access by the public, and so the scope and visibility of any developed application may be unlimited. Custom applications have been developed in the following functional areas: Scientific Reporting Services and System Support; Grants Management Systems; Contracts Managements Systems; Human Resources Management Systems; Administrative Management Systems; and Other Management Systems. The ideal candidate should have strong software architecture & development experience and be very comfortable in learning an existing product and adjusting product architecture as customer requirements or technology evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on equipment, including cameras, lighting, sound, and editing for webcasting from NIEHS locations
- Arrange for and coordinate caption of live and recorded events
- Clean and inventory, as needed, used areas of the NIEHS Rodbell Auditorium Control Booth and/or F193 and/or other areas
- Consult with clients and assist in development of technical strategy and solutions
- Create and incorporate audio descriptions into webcasts
- Create reports of online use of videos Create reports of work performed
- Create transcripts of podcasts
- Effectively communicate project expectations on an ongoing basis to stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion
- Handle all aspects of production for live webcasts of live events
- Handle all aspects of production for on-demand-videos created from live events. Incorporate captions from caption contract(s) into live events
- Incorporate captions from caption contract(s) into recorded events Maintain and publish a schedule of webcasted events
- Maintain the NIEHS Webcasting Field Kit
- Maintenance of Equipment listed in TE-XII Government Supplied Equipment Inventory
- Monitor the webcasting industry and make recommendations for service improvements Produce simple DVDs from recorded events
- Proficiency with Software and Equipment listed in TE-XIII Software Used for Multimedia Support Serve as video editor for all webcasts
- Serve as videographer for webcasts
- Support and manager the Wowza Media Systems server
- Support NIEHS’s YouTube channel, if needed Support the use of JW Player
- Support Tightrope Media Systems’ Carousel Digital Signage boxes, cabling, display, and server Work closely with Web team in a collaborative manner to support digital product needs
- Work with customers to place caption orders
- Work with Web development team to publish videocasts, both live and recorded online.
- Skills Required:
- Ability to create Section 508 compliant videos
- AV Equipment maintenance skills and experience Camera operation skills
- Experience with JW Player Experience with WebEx
- Experience with Wowza Media Systems and server management Professional demeanor and excellent client management skills
- Proficiency with Software and Equipment listed in TE-XIII Software Used for Multimedia Support Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
- Skills Preferred:
- Ability to manage in a dynamic work environment and ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments
- Client interface experience; proven experience managing client expectations & relationships
- Must possess strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities to be able to produce multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with attention to detail
- Video editing skills including, but not limited to, time editing, captioning, and sound leveling Webcasting software administration skills
